“Grapes are like diamonds in the rough; they must be shaped and polished, but never modified”
The Garnacha variety grows in a 10-year old vineyard with sandy-loam soil and small stones on the surface. The 2013 vintage saw a rainy spring and a hot early summer. In August, temperatures eased, the nights got cooler. However, heavy rains (90 l in a day) in the last week of the month made it difficult to start the harvest. September was good, warm and dry. Therefore, it was an inconsistent vintage that required selection in the field and when bringing in the grape.
